How to produce your audiobook

Hey author, congratulations on writing your book! Did you know you can self-publish an audio book to of your own to sell on Audible, iTunes and Amazon? The audiobook industry is expected to grow to $14.99 BILLION by 2027! Here’s how you can bring your project to a new digital audience.

But where do you start? If you already have your own website and extremely large social media following, the most profitable way is to self-publish and allow access to the .mp3 recording on your Google drive. I just purchased and listened to a very dynamic business growth audio book and enjoyed every minute from the engaging author. He was so motivating and fun to listen to, and I found purchasing quite simple; he gave read only access to his Google drive for listen only, and there was no download capability. It was efficient and simple, just like his advice.

If you are a new author, one way to build you audience is through the powerhouses that are Audible and Amazon. At www.acx.com, you can either bring your own audio already produced (a service I offer) or authors can receive auditions from voice actors to produce the audio book. Many voice talent prefer to be paid “per finished hour” or you may do a royalty share with the narrator so it doesn’t cost any money upfront.

One essential key is to pick the right talent. Hi, I’m Lea. And I LOVE voicing audiobooks. I don’t really love editing audiobooks, but we can talk about that later.

In my professional home studio, it would be an honor to bring your book to life. I have voiced all genres:

*Fiction with characters

*Narrative

*Phone app short stories

*Nonfiction self help

*Nonfiction medical & scientific

Here’s how the process works:

1) Message me – let’s talk budget, sound and timeline

2) I’ll record you a sample

3) You approve the sample audio quality & style

4) I get to work, voicing the rest of your project

5) Delivery! On time!

6) You give audio to an audiobook editor who will edit my mistakes & master the audio

or

8) I edit and master the audiobook to make it ready for ACX, Audible, or iTunes upload!

9) You watch the downloads and listens tally up!
